The synergy of nature inspired Elizabeth to create this painting. We discovered Sunflowers growing in our garden thanks to the efforts of the birds that were enjoying the sunflower seeds in our feeder. The name stems from the sunflowers facing the sun which was being shared with all the other plants, birds, rabbits, squirrels and every living thing on this planet.
When the war broke out Elizabeth decided to donate the net proceeds of the sale of this painting to a charity to aid in their support for Ukraine and she asked her husband Arthur to make a frame for it so she could paint it in the colors of the Ukrainian Flag.
Manitoba has the highest percentage of people with Ukrainian heritage in Canada and the farming skills they brought helped develop western Canada.
